Upgraded SA, ArchiMate version constant (v2.2)

System Architect has been upgraded, but the version of the ArchiMate plug-in has been kept constant

  • Open Rational System Architect
  • Open the encyclopedia 
  • Click Yes to upgrade

  • Click Yes to upgrade

  • Click No to the defaults




  • Re-select any property sets that were applied to the encyclopedia



 

If roadmapping has been enabled on the encyclopedia, you will see this issue –
System Architect has overwritten one of the needed ArchiMate plug-in files during the upgrade of the encyclopedia

We need to import one of the Files from the ArchiMate install folder to get past this error
Click Ok and the open encyclopedia dialog will open, cancel out of this 



  • Go to Tools > Encyclopedia File Manager




  • Select the encyclopedia you are upgrading


  • Select the Import > Import File As… option





  • Navigate to the ArchiMate install folder and enter it


  • The default path is C:\Program Files (x86)\IBM\Rational\System Architect Suite\ArchiMate For System Architect



  • Select the ACV2.CFG file and click OK


  • Import the file as PROPERTY SET\ACV2.CFG and select OK


Once this has been imported successfully – Check that the Last Updated field for the file matches with the current date and import time

  • Exit out of the Encyclopedia File Manager
  • Re-open the encyclopedia
