The DR4000 and DR4100 can add an expansion shelf if you don't already have 2 of them. DR will need to be on version 2.1 or later software version.
•Both the DR4000 and DR4100 support up to 2 MD 1200 expansion shelves
–They have to be fully populated
–The 2.7 TB DR4X00 do not support expansion
•Sold in 9TB, 18TB, 27TB, and 36TB
–Configured as a RAID 6 with a hot spare
•The Shelf cannot be sized smaller then the chassis*
•Data is divided between shelves and chassis.
–This means the system becomes dependent on the chassis being attached!!
