Unable to change the subnet mask/gateway on DR -
Description
Changing only the subnet mask or the gateway doesn't work on the web interface. Changing it from the CLI returns the following error:
"ip address" is not a valid argument. Valid argument(s) for --ip are IPv4/IPv6 address not already in use. -
Cause
The command requires to specify a different ip address than the one currently used on the DR interface -
Resolution
change both the IP address and the subnet mask and/or the gateway, then change the ip address back to the original one- To change them from the web interface
- Click System Configuration | Networking
- Click the Edit button to modify the interface configuration using a temporary ip
- Change the IP with a temporary one
- Change subnet mask and/or gateway
- Click Save to confirm the changes and restart the network interface
- Once the unit is operational, change the ip to the old one
- To change them from the CLI, use the following command
network --setstatic_ip [--bondif < bondN > ] [--nwif < ethN > ] --ip < ip_address > --netmask < netmask > [--gateway < gateway > ]- Run the command once to change IP address, subnet mask and/or gateway
- restart the network with
network --restart - Run the command again changing only the ip address with the old one
- restart the network with
network --restart
- To change them from the web interface
