When trying to restore a VM using restore or restore from manifest using vranger 7.x.
Job fails immediately and the customer gets the following errors:
- Generating tasks for all savepoints failed
- No task is created (email message sent after job fails).
Ranger Service debug logs will show the following:
- unable to locate host-id <ex: host-461>
Which usually implies some sort of communication issue with the host.
Log into the esxi mob to verify you are able to browse to the specified host.
Find the affected host under vRanger-My Inventory
Right click on the host and click remove credentials (this removes the golden key icon on the host).
Attempt the restore job once again.
