When trying to install Toad 32bit on a 64bit machine, the installation directory and root directory specified are C:\Program Files\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle.
But after installation, the application ends up in C:\Program Files (x86). This is not desired. How can Toad be installed into a directory that is not (x86)?
When installing Toad and specifying the installation/root directory, do not use "Program Files" at all. Window will automatically redirect a 32bit application if the Program Files folder is specified.
Direct the installation into any directory that is not Program Files, i.e. C:\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle or C:\Applications\Quest Software\Toad for Oracle.
