Backups fail with a warning "The program has failed to back up Registry. Cannot create a file when that file already exists". No error messages were found in the logs for RMAD.
Event ID 1544 - Quest Backup Agent. Error code 0x80070087. "The program has failed to back up Registry. Cannot create a file when that file already exists." - Shows on RMAD server
Event ID 333 - An I/O operation initiated bu the Registry failed unrecoverably. Registry could not read in, or write out, or flush, one of the files that contain the system's image of the Registry" - found on the Domain Controller that the backup is erroring on.
Reboot the Domain Controller with the 333 events and test the backup.
