Symptoms: Backup fails with error Unable to logon to auditor, check account and password are valid
The Bianry log shows the following errors:

Problem with the auditor files
1) Stop the NetVault service.
2) Rename the users and user.bin in the folder /NetVault/db and then restart the NetVault service, if any extra Users other than admin and default where setup then these will need to be recreated as the old settings will no longer be present.
