Introducing GitHub Copilot Integration in Toad Data Studio (4384211)

Beginning with Toad Data Studio 2026 R2, GitHub Copilot is integrated directly into the SQL Editor, allowing developers to generate SQL using AI-powered inline code suggestions.

Simply describe what you want to accomplish in a SQL comment, and GitHub Copilot provides context-aware suggestions that can be accepted, modified, or ignored as you continue writing code.

How It Works

After signing in to your GitHub account with an active GitHub Copilot subscription, AI-generated suggestions appear inline in the SQL Editor while you write SQL.

Enter prompts as comments. Suggestions can be:

• Accepted with Tab
• Ignored by continuing to type
• Generated from natural language comments entered directly in the Editor

• Toad Data Studio 2026 R2 or later
• An active GitHub Copilot subscription
