A new installation of SmartDisk has been added to a NetVault Backup Server but jobs hang in "Writing to media" with no throughput and they timeout after 15 minutes.
The SmartDisk installation has been done with WebDAV authentication configured, but NetVault Backup has not been configured with the authentication parameters.
1. On the NVBU Server, start a terminal session or open a command prompt.
2. Navigate to .../util or ...\util (where ... refers to the NVBU installation directory, and issue the following command:
nvdav --server <NVSD Server Name>
Use sudo, if not logged in as root on Linux/UNIX. On Windows, you must be logged in with administrator privileges.
3. When the Username prompt appears, enter the user name configured on the NVSD Server. Press Enter.
4. When the Password prompt appears, enter the password associated with the configured user. Press Enter.
5. Enter the password again, when the Confirm Password appears. Press Enter to complete the configuration.
