Installed a fresh instance of vRanger.
Credentialed VC, according to documentation.
Jobs are taking much longer to complete.
vRanger 5.2 now can backup VM's using only the VC credentials. If the ESX hosts are not credentialed as well, the service console is not accessed.
A full clean install of vRanger 5.2 should be configured with BOTH VC and ESX hosts credentialed.
When only the VC is credentialed, vRanger will utilize the VDDK NBD transport which is usually than using the service console.
Upgraded vRanger 5.2 instances retain the ESX hosts credentials which allows for the continued useof the service console for data transfers.
