When attempting a replication, the following error message is observed:
"Error Message: The virtual appliance (VA_UUID) could not be found on the host it was configured for
(Host_Name). vRanger does not support vMotioning of its virtual appliances;
please migrate the VA back to the host it was configured for, or reconfigure the VA's settings accordingly."
The Virtual Appliance has been vMotioned from the host that is specified in vRanger. As stated in the above error message, this is not supported.
If the Virtual Appliance is to stay on the new host, or if it is vMotioned back to its original host, the following steps apply in each case:
1. In vRanger, navigate to Tools | Options | Virtual Appliance - Configuration
2. Remove the VA from vRanger (Do not Delete VA)
3. Re-add the VA to vRanger - this will register the name of the host with vRanger
4. Run replication
