On a completely unpatched version of Windows Server 2012 R2, Desktop Authority may not get past the prerequisites screen due to .NET Framework 4.6 failing to install. The installation of .NET Framework 4.6 may fail to install because of missing Operating System prerequisites. After clicking Update, the process will wait and after some time it will return to same window with Update button still enabled, meaning that the update failed.
DAInstaller.lo Log file located in C:\ProgramData\Quest\DAConsole\ will show next lines:

The update corresponding to KB2919355 needs to be installed before you can install this product on Windows 8.1 or Windows Server 2012 R2.
Let Windows Update install patches to automatically update .NET Framework.
Or Install patches manually in this order (multiple reboots are required when installing these patches):
1. Windows Server 2012 R2 (KB2919442)
2. Windows Server 2012 R2 Update (KB2919355):
Importan Note: KB2919355 must be installed in the following order: clearcompressionflag.exe, KB2919355, KB2932046, KB2959977, KB2937592, KB2938439, and KB2934018.
After following these steps, installation will continue without further issue.
