Error Applying License - Object reference not set to an instance of an Object (4282534)

When applying the license to GPOAdmin, the following error message is seen

Object reference not set to an instance of an Object

1. License is stripped of its contents and may be blocked
2. Check that UAC is disabled
3. Check that you are running GPOAdmin as and administrator
4. Check that.Net 4.5.2 (at least) is installed - https://msdn.microsoft.com/en-us/library/hh925568%28v=vs.110%29.aspx

1. Steps 2 - 4 above should be already in place, in this case check the liense file by opening it in Notepad, if the license is blank then the email system of the customer is stripping the content of the license.
2. This can be confirmed by right clicking on the license and choosing properties, if the License is showing blocked on the bottom on the properties, then you can try selecting unblock, but the license will most likely to empty
3. Contact Support and request a new license but please make sure the license is sent in a zipped format to prevent the stripping next time
4. When you get the new license unzip it and open it (Notepad), you will now see its contents and will be able to apply it
