Change the ICMP Service for NetMonitor to use the OS-specific ICMP service instead of default Agent Manager ICMP service (4248288)

Foglight Net Monitor uses the ICMP (Internet Control Message Protocol) service to communicate with network devices. There are two versions of this service that are available for use:

• ping
• tracert (Microsoft Windows only) or traceroute (Linux only)

Out of the box, Foglight NetMonitor uses Agent Manager ICMP Service for monitoring.

IMPORTANT NOTE
If you are running your FglAM embedded on an APM appliance, due to the box being locked down for security reasons, you cannot make either of the below changes. You will need to continue to run with the default Agent Manager ICMP Service OR instead of running an embedded FglAM, you can deploy the NeMonitor agent to an external FglAM that is not running on an APM appliance.   

To switch to OS-Specific ICMP services (native ICMP service), the following switch can be added when starting the FglAM:

fglam -s -Dnetmonitor.icmpprovider=OS

Alternately, this can be added to the $FGLAM_HOME/state/default/config/baseline.jvmargs.config file

vmparameter.0 = "-Dnetmonitor.icmpprovider=OS";
