Discovery Service keeps crashing

Discovery Service keeps crashing with the error message below: Event 7031: The Metalogix ControlPoint Discovery Service service terminated unexpectedly. It has done this 1 time(s). The following corrective action will be taken in 1000 milliseconds: Restart the service.

1. Launch Command Prompt as an administrator, and run the following command to remove the older Discovery Service:

sc delete DiscoveryService

2. In the same Command Prompt, change the directory to the ..\Program Files\Metalogix\ControlPoint\ControlPointFeatures folder and run the command below:

DiscoveryService.exe -install

3. Navigate to the ..\Program Files\Metalogix\ControlPoint\ControlPointFeatures folder, then open the DiscoverySetup.exe file.

4. On the Service Properties tab, select the Change Service Account option and change the Service Account from Local Service to the ControlPoint Service Account.

5. If the View Queue tab shows a Discovery in process, truncate the queue from the xcAdmin database directly by opening SQL Server Management Studio and running the command below:

use xcAdmin
truncate table xcDiscoveryQueue

6. If the View Queue tab shows a date of 2019, perform the resolution on the article below:
