dynamic distribution lists publish with group scope of Domain Local
Description
Dynamic distribution lists are published as domain local groups in subscribing forests.
Cause
A defect has been identified in Collaboration services 3.7 that causes the publishing side of a collaboration to use a group scope of domain local when publishing dynamic distribution lists.
Extract the hotfix package to a temporary directory on your Collaboration Services Server.
Stop All QCS related services on that server
Navigate to your QCS installation folder (ie. C:\program files (x86)\Quest Software\Collaboration Services\
Backup the vision number folder (ie 3.6.1.017)
Copy the new Files from the temp location to the Version number folder When prompted overwrite the existing copy (The entire folder was backed up in step 4)
Open the Registry Editor and Navigate to the following Key:
On 64-Bit Systems: HKLM\Software\Wow6432Node\Aelita\AelitaCollaborationServices
On 32-Bit Systems: HKLM\Software\Aelita\AelitaCollaborationServices
Create a New Dword value named DynamicDLGroupType and set the value to 8
Close the Registry Editor
Start all QCS related services
Open the QCS console right click on any publications and select "Republish | AD Objects Only"
Once the republish of AD objects has completed verify at subscribing locations that the DL's have been updated as Universal groups.
