When the Domino resources and rooms synced ActiveDirectory, they will be created as a mail-enabled contact. As a result, Outlook users will see the under correct Addressbook View but with default mail-enabled contact icon.
Is there a way to enhance such behavior so that Outlook users will understand which is a room and which is a resource
Follow SOL111143 to add the needed Domino LDAP attribute that is not available by default in the connector. The attribute is ResourceType
1. Create a CMN Notes to Exchange directory connector for resources that will be used to migrate rooms
a. Edit Advanced Settings on the CMN Notes to Exchange directory connector for resources
b. Under Source Scope, create a filter named “Rooms”
c. Click Attribute to select the ResourceType Domino attribute
d. Click Is(exactly) for Specify Operation
e. Type “1” without quotes in the Value field
f. Click Add to add the filter, then OK to close
2. Update Provision Attributes to populate msExchRecipientDisplayType=7 (Room mailbox icon in Outlook GAL)
a. Under Advanced Settings, click Provision Attributes
b. Click Add Rule
c. Select the Target Attribute msExchRecipientDisplayType
d. Type “7” without quotes then Add Text
e. Click OK to close
3. Repeat the same procedure (step 2) for the Update Attributes tab
4. Create a second CMN Notes to Exchange directory connector for resources that will be used to migrate non-room and mail-in databases (Object type resources)
a. Edit Advanced Settings on the CMN Notes to Exchange directory connector for resources
b. Under Source Scope, create a filter named “Resources”
c. Click Attribute to select the ResourceType Domino attribute
d. Click Is(exactly) for Specify Operation
e. Type “2” without quotes in the Value field
f. Click Add to add the filter, then OK to close
5. Update Provision Attributes to populate msExchRecipientDisplayType=8 (Resource mailbox icon in Outlook GAL)
a. Under Advanced Settings, click Provision Attributes
b. Click Add Rule
c. Select the Target Attribute msExchRecipientDisplayType
d. Type “8” without quotes then Add Text
e. Click OK to close
6. Repeat the same procedure (step 5) for the Update Attributes tab
7. Create a third CMN Notes to Exchange directory connector that will be used for mail-in databases
a. Edit Advanced Settings on the CMN Notes to Exchange directory connector for resources
b. Under Source Scope, create a filter named “Other Resources”
c. Click Attribute to select the ResourceType Domino attribute
d. Click Not present for Specify Operation
e. Click Add to add the filter, then OK to close
