Groupwise Shared Addressbook Management (87564)

There are two Scenarios which are addressed in this Article:

1) Some user have not accepted the Shared Addressbook

2) How will new users get the Shared Adressbook?

What is the best way to get the addressbook shared ONLY for the users which didn't accept the addressbook or to new created GroupWise users?

The re-sending of the shared address book invitation to certain users needs to be done manually.

Firstly, Coexistence Manager for GroupWise (CMG) will not send out invitations to the Shared Addressbook as long as gwws-manage-shared-addressbook is set to false. However, even when setting it to true, CMG will not send any invitations to GroupWise users who are present on the ACL of the address book already, regardless of the invitation-status.

Secondly, there are five different states through which the invitation can be reflected: Accepted, Rejected, Opened, Deleted, Pending.

1- "Pending" will only be shown if the POA is unable to receive a status or the users have not read the invitation yet, which is why this cannot be used as a basis for action. If there is a problem with the POA receiving the status, then this needs to be solved first.
2- When the status is shown as "Accepted" no action needs to be taken.
3- When the status is "Rejected", "Opened" or "Deleted", then, the following steps can be undertaken to re-send the shared addressbook invitation:

1. Open the GroupWise Client as the user that is configured in CMG to share the address book.
2. Locate the address book that is being shared.
3. Right-click and select Properties.
4. Click the Sharing tab.
5. Click the small Address Book icon.
6. Locate the user that deleted the address book invite on the right side pane and click to highlight them.
7. Click the remove button at the bottom of the screen.
8. Click OK
9. Click OK
10. Locate the address book that is being shared.
11. Right-click and select Properties.
12. Click the Sharing tab.
13. Click the small Address Book icon.
14. Locate the user you just removed on the right side pane and click to highlight them.
15. Click the Select Address button on the top.
16. Click OK
17. Click OK
