Description
The following is recorded in the Change Auditor Client and it crashes when accessing "Auditing | Attributes", clicking on a class, and loading the attributes:The specified name is not a forest, Active Directory domain controller, ADAM instance, or ADAM configuration set.Parameter name: context -
Cause
When accessing "Auditing | Attributes" and highlighting a class to populate the attributes, the Change Auditor client attempts to connect to the global catalog server through port 445 first and then port 139. The error occurs if it not able to connect through either port 445 or port 139. -
Resolution
WORKAROUND
Allow connections from the Change Auditor client to the global catalog server on port 445 (or alternatively port 139).
STATUS
TF00663819 created to investigate if the behavior can be improved, to document the port requirement, and to display more user-friendly error message when the port is not open.
