PowerShell cmdlet Get-CASearches fails and throws an exception when it is unable to resolve a Search Owner in Active Directory -
Description

Cause
There are searches enabled by other users or private searches. -
Resolution
This issue has been resolved in the latest release of Change Auditor. It is highly recommended to upgrade to the latest release.
WORKAROUND- Check which unique OwnerID exist for searches in the ChangeAuditor database:
Select Distinct OwnerID, Count (OwnerID) AS Total
From Query.Information
Group By OwnerID;
Note: GUID 18792A24-3142-4FE9-85E7-11B9C44AE8E2 is the default OwnerID and should be ignored in the next step - Use the PowerShell get-aduser command to see if a user is returned or which return error, "Directory Object not found"
For example:
get-aduser 11264531-2BDB-4C1A-AC3E-C01978D86802 - Close the CA Client
- Run the following command in SQL Management Studio (replace GUID with the search GUID(s) which belong to any deleted user accounts discovered in Step 2):
Update Query.Information set OwnerID = '18792A24-3142-4FE9-85E7-11B9C44AE8E2',
FolderID = '18792A24-3142-4FE9-85E7-11B9C44AE8E2'
Where Ownerid = 'GUID', - Open CA Client as any Change Auditor Administrator
- Locate the Search. It should now be found in the root of the "Shared" folder
- The Search can then be moved or deleted
- "Get-CASearches" powershell command should be running without issue.
- Check which unique OwnerID exist for searches in the ChangeAuditor database:
