Description

The Coordinator is stuck in the initializing state with the following error repeatably being written to the Coordinator log
[INFO][Quest.Data.ClientSql.HandleException(0)] SQL error: TIMEOUT on SELECT TOP 1 _id FROM dbo.AuditEvent ORDER BY _id DESC
Running the SQL Query against the database it is noted that the query takes longer than the default 30 seconds to complete.
Cause

The default SQL Timeout of 30 seconds is insufficient for the SQL Query to complete and allow the initialization to complete.
Resolution

Add the SQLTimeout registry value to the Coordinator registry key as follows.
SQL Command Timeout
Location: Registry
Version 6.5 and later Path: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Quest\ChangeAuditor
Value Name: SQLTimeout
Value Type: DWORD
Value: Default = 30 seconds (Decimal) change to 300 seconds (Decimal)
Value: Maximum time in seconds for SQL command to execute. Impacts most client and Coordinator queries.
Restart the Coordinator.
Please note: If you have a Change Auditor version prior to 6.9.5, any folder/registry paths referenced may contain a non-Quest branded path.
