Modify the installation name to be 22 characters or less in the Change Auditor database (dbo.systemproperty table) and install the Coordinator with that new name instead.
Before doing that however, you need to decide to:
Uninstall the Agents from existing Coordinator before taking it offline and re-deploy once Coordinator is re-installed with new install name
-OR-
Modify the Agent-side registry key to control which install name the Agents seek.
- - Launch Regedit
- - Modify the agent InstallName key via the registry: HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Quest\ChangeAuditor\Agent\InstallationName
- - Change this to a non-existent name
Example of possible solution depending on the scenario:
1. Uninstall the Agents.
2. Uninstall the Coordinator(s)
3. Rename the existing Administrators and Operators groups
From...
"ChangeAuditor Administrators - OldInstallName"
"ChangeAuditor Operators - OldInstallName"
To...
"ChangeAuditor Administrators - NewInstallName"
"ChangeAuditor Operators - NewInstallName"
4. Edit the dbo.SystemProperty table in the ChangeAuditor database. Find the 'PropKey' for InstallationName. Rename the corresponding 'PropValue' from OldInstallName to NewInstallName. Close the table to save the changes.
5. Install Coordinator(s). When prompted for the installation name, enter the new name, "NewInstallName". Specify the existing database.
6. Once Coordinator install is complete, upgrade the Client if not already upgraded.
7. Re-deploy the agents from View | Deployment.
