Change Auditor Coordinator Service will not start after upgrade when the database is involved in a database mirroring session or an availability group (4249638)

The Change Auditor Coordinator Service will not start after upgrade. The following error is recorded in the Change Auditor Coordinator log:

Change Auditor does not officially support database mirroring or high availability and is not able to upgrade the database during the Coordinator startup.

WORKAROUND

1. Stop the Coordinator
2. Remove the ChangeAuditor database from the database mirroring or high availability group
3. Ensure the Coordinator is pointed to the correct SQL node/database location once removed from the high availability group
4. Allow the Coordinator to upgrade the database (ensure the Coordinator is fully initialized)
5. Stop the Coordinator
6. Add the now upgraded ChangeAuditor database back to the high availability group
7. Ensure the Coordinator is pointed back to the correct SQL cluster name/database location
8. Start the Coordinator
9. Upgrade any remaining Coordinators which are part of this install name per normal procedure

Note: This issue and workaround also applies to Azure availability groups as well.
