Issue
When a user is sent to migrate they go into a pending state and the migration worker never kicks off.
Solution
A user or mail-in database can go into pending for a number of reasons. Check the following reasons below:
1. Make sure there is enough hard drive space on the migration machine. If it is 500 megs or lower the migration will not start.
2. If the migration profile is not sent to the back end access database. If a new profile is created, you must click 'Refresh Profiles' button to send it to back-end database. Make sure you always create a new profile and never edit and save the Default profile.
Also in the Notes Migrator database a user will be placed into a Pending status in the migration view, but this is always not a true status in what is going on at the back end. If you refresh the migration status does it return another status?
3. Make sure you have access to the temp directory on the migration workstation. If you do a start/run from the OS and type in temp. do you have access to the temp directory? Make sure UAC (User Access Control) is turned off on the machine.
4. This could happen also if there are bad entries in the 'MigrationQueueTable' table in the back-end database.
a. If you currently have people or databases migrating, go to that worker and for the migration job hit pause.
b. For 3.7 and older versions, open cmt.exe and go to the user queue, locate the mail in database that are in a pending and right click them and choose Reset user. The user will back to "ready for migration."
c. For 3.7 or older versions, open the cmt_universal.mdb from C:\Program Files (x86)\BinaryTree\CMT for Exchange\CMT_XMLServer\App_Data, for 3.8 and newer versions, open SQL server CMTe database
d. Go the 'MigrationQueueTable' table and see if any user has a -1 in there record. If so delete that record and or records, Close the access database
e. Run an IISreset from the start/run menu on the MCC
f. Resume any migrations you paused.
g. Send the problem users to migrate again.
5. And lastly are there any errors in the event log on the migration workstation at the time the user is sent to migrate?
