Issue
After installation of Notes Migrator (CMTe) software, the application pool will not start in IIS on Windows Server 2012.
This application pool in IIS 8.5 is enabled for 32 bit applications. It will not start if there is a StripHeadersModule in IIS.
This can be seen by observing the Event Viewer Application logs:
“The Module DLL C:\Windows\system32\inetsrv\stripheaders.dll failed to load. The data is the error.”
Cause
By default Windows Server 2012 R2 does not install .net 3.5 framework. The default installation of this server version installs version 4.5
Solution
1 - Open IIS 8.5 and click on the server name immediately under Start page on the left hand side of the screen, and click on the modules icon in the main screen.
2 - Right click on StripHeadersModule and choose “Unlock”. Right click again and choose “Remove”.
3 - Next click on “Configure Native Modules” under the Actions menu on the far right of the screen and in the box that opens select StripHeadersModule and click on “Remove” and OK.
4 - Open a command prompt and type iisreset, reboot server and test you can browse the Notes Migrator Monitor page. Confirm the problem is resolved.
