Issue
What actually happens when a user click the synchronize contact button?
Solution
The button in Notes Migrator database will check the Notes client version, if it's 8.x or higher, the agent will check the user profile for the current configuration and turn-on the "Enable Synchronize Contacts" if needed. This feature can be found under Contacts in User Preferences. The agent will not kick off the replication. The user must trigger the replication on their own or wait for the next scheduled replication.
These prompts were added to help direct the end-user in each event circumstance. The end-user will receive one of these prompts if R8/9 Contacts Sync is already enabled:
If the count is off between the PNAB and Mail file a message, similar to the example below, will be displayed in a dialog box:
"You already have 6 Contacts in your mail file and 10 Contact in your personal Name and Address Book. Please manually run replication to ensure all desired Contacts are synchronized to your Mail file before Migration. Thank you"
If the counts match then the user will see something similar to this example displayed in a dialog box:
"You already have 6 Contacts Synchronized using the Replicator. Please manually run replication to ensure all recent Contacts are synchronized to your Mail file before your scheduled Migration. Thank you"
And the end-user will receive this prompt if R8/9 Contacts Sync is not enabled currently. When the user clicks OK, the feature will then be enabled.
"Since you are using Lotus Notes R8/9, Contact Synchronization will now be enabled on the Replicator. After which, please manually run replication to ensure Contacts are synchronized to your Mail file before your scheduled Migration. Thank you"
If the end-user is using R7 or lower then the normal button process will run.
