We ran into an issue in which BMF failed to terminate a run after hours of execution.
The test stayed at the pre-sampling status.
It was configured to have 10-minute pre-sampling and 30-minute iteration.
User load of 5000 distriputed between 8 agents running on the same client PC.
Try moving some or all of the agents to other machines to spread out the load. For example, try adding max of between 3-4 agents on each PC, keeping between 400-500 users per agent.
To set up the external agents try the following steps:
1. From the external machines where BMF 5.5 is installed, run the BMF Agent by clicking Start | Programs | Quest Software | Benchmark Factory for Databases | Agent
2. From the Benchmark Factory Agent Window, click on Options | Settings
3. In the Machine Name/IP Field, enter the hostname or IP address of the main BMF client machine that will be runnning the job (ie the BMF client PC where the script was created in Script View)
Once the external agents are setup, right-click on the script in Script View on the main BMF PC where the script was created and select Submit Job. The job will run and the virtual users will be distributed between the agents on the main BMF client PC and the agents on the external PCs.
