If you have recently introduced a Windows 2012 server Domain Controller in your environment and you are running a version of Archive Manager which is not capable of working with Windows 2012 then you may experience this issue. To work around it the best option is to upgrade to a more current version which supports Windows 2012. If an upgrade is not possible (or you need a temporary solution) then you can use a Domains.xml file to point to a specific DC in the domain that is at a level which is supported by the Archive Manager version you are running.
To do this you would:
- Stop the Archive Manager Active Directory Connector (ADC) Service
- Add this Config Editor entry: ADC Config File
- Point the above entry to the Domains.xml file (example: C:\Dell\Archive Manager\Domains.xml)
- The Domains.xml file should look similar to the below. Note that you will need to change all the variables to reflect the specific domain and server you want to work with. Additional Domain.xml examples can be found in this knowledgebase and in the Install Guides.
