The Best way to ensure a mailbox is not archived would be to disable the mailbox for store management.
1. Open the Archive Manager Website as an Administrator
2. Click the gear icon in the uppe right corner of the Screen
3. Select Administration
4. Click Mailboxes on the left side of the screen.
5. Find the mailbox you wish to disable, and click the edit button.
6. Uncheck the Enable Store Manager check box on the mailbox properties page.
7. Click the update button.
The Exchange/Groupwise Store manager service will no longer attempt to archive this mailbox.
