When sending emails from Archive Manager, the following error occurs:
SMTP server not ready to receive data 250
This occurs when Trend Micro Interscan Mail Security (IMSS) is installed on the same machine as the Exchange server. IMSS uses a different standards of sending and receiving mails which differs from the sendmail web application in Archive Manager
When IMSS resides on the same machine as Exchange, it become the default SMTP server and listen on port 25. However, when communicating with Archive Manager it causes problem because port 25 in Archive Manager is not compliant with the international SMTP standards which IMSS is using.
Bypass IMSS so that Archive Manager can route mail directly to Exchange. Since both Exchange and IMSS are residing on the same machine, they cannot use the same port 25. Thus, IMSS will change the Exchange port to another SMTP port. Please refer to the following kb article to change the default port 25 to the exchange customized SMTP port.
