When selecting a message that has been stubbed in Outlook, the email does not reconstruct and the message "this email has been archived, click here to view message"
On clicking the "here" link a browser window is opened but the user receives a 401 unauthorized error.
To confirm the URL is correct in a stubbed message perform the following steps:
- Open a stubbed message in Outlook that will not reconstruct.
- Place the mouse curser over the "click here" hyperlink and a url will be displayed, e.g. http://archivemanager/ViewMessage.aspx?CheckSum=13d055c1-428c-ffc3-8b80-9ba755fc745e
- In a command prompt try to ping the hostname in the URL, e.g. "archivemanager" and ensure it can be resolved to an IP address.
- If the hostname cannot be resolved to an IP address or if the IP address is incorrect the host record will need to be updated in DNS.
Alternatively the Exchange Utility can be used to update the URL in stubbed messages by following the steps found HERE.
