Managing core events assists with the monitoring of the health and usage of the AppAssure 5 Core. The Core includes predefined sets of events, which can be used to notify administrators of critical issues on the Core or the backup jobs.
The below section describes how you can configure/reconfigure email notification settings.
From the Configuration tab on the Core Console, you can manage: notification groups; email SMTP settings; repetition reduction; and event retention.
NOTE: There is a default notification group that is always present in the Notification Groups. You can configure the notification settings for this default group without creating new one.
|SMTP Server||Enter the host name of your SMTP server that handles your email. The naming convention includes the host name, domain, and suffix; for example, smtp.gmail.comYou will then need to enter the following:|
- Port. The port number for sending email notifications. For example, port 587 or 465 for configuring the SMTP server for Gmail.
- Timeout. The amount of time to wait before a timeout occurs if there is a problem sending email notifications.
- TLS. Select this check box if your email server requires a secure connection using TLS
|Username||Enter the username for the SMTP server.|
|Password||The password for the SMTP server|
|From||Enter the email address that will serve as the originating email address.|
|Email Subject||Enter the subject for the email.|
|Enter the message details for the event.|
The Repetition Reduction setting allows you to configure the amount of the same email alerts received during a specific period of time.
