The network path was not found.
When attempting to install the Active Administrator agent on a domain controller the error “The network path was not found” is displayed and in the log, as shown below:
This is typically a DNS issue.
There can be multiple resolutions. Please try the recommendations below one at a time, and then test installing the agent again. If the first one doesn’t work, try the next one, etc.
On the Active Administrator server put an entry in the hosts file for the domain controller(s) getting this error, as shown below:
If attempting to install the agent in another domain, in the same domain where Active Administrator resides, add a DNS (CNAME) record for the domain controller(s) that reside in the remote domain.
If attempting to install the agent in another domain, open Network Connection Properties | Internet Protocol (TCP/IP) Properties | Advanced, and check the DNS and WINS settings. On the DNS tab add the domain name in the “Append these DNS suffixes (in order)” on the domain controller, as shown below.
Verify that local security policy settings on the Active Administrator server and/or the domain controller are not preventing .exe and .dll files from being copied and written to the %window%\SLAgent directory.
Test SQL authentication.
