After upgrading to Active Administrator version 8.9, the “Acting User” field appears empty in audit entries where it was previously populated.
Customers report that this behavior began immediately following the upgrade. Internal testing has reproduced the issue in a lab environment, confirming that it is not specific to a particular configuration.
This behavior impacts auditing visibility, as administrators can no longer identify the originating (acting) user behind delegated or proxied activities.
This issue has been identified as a product defect in Active Administrator 8.9, where the Acting User attribute is not being correctly populated in audit records.
The issue has been addressed in Active Administrator 8.9 Update 1 (version 8.9.1.9).
Upgrade to version 8.9.1.9 or later to resolve the issue and restore proper functionality of the Acting User field.
