Replication test is part of AD Monitoring or AD health modules?
There are replication tests in both the AFS and AD Health parts of Active Administrator. The AD Health does DC and GC replication latency tests. There is also an Active Administrator base license AFS replication test.
We schedule a replication test to run every 60 minutes, and this is enabled in Active Administrator by default.
This test will get all DCs in the monitored forest and then create an object on each DC to track.
We then look for the replication of this object to the other DCs. This verifies basic replication. Once verified, the tracking objects are deleted.
We then test the CNAME entries on each of the DCs to verify that the DNS records on the DCs are consistent.
