ThinShell windows opened but it's not connecting and not launching XML-configured app. Clicking on Connect button does nothing.
This can occur if there is a missing DLL registration.
To resolve the issue please perform the following steps:
- make sure that ThinShell is closed
- search \windows\system32 folder if file pnllmcli.dll exists
- open command prompt. Use "run as admin" mode if running on Vista/Win7 machine.
- run commands:
cd \windows\system32
regsvr32 pnllmcli.dll
Open ThinShelll and try to connect again.
To verify that registration passed successfully, please open regedit and navigate to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SOFTWARE\Classes\CLSID\{D9397163-A2DB-4A4A-B2C9-34E876AF2DFC}
Under that key, make sure that InprocServer32 subkey exists and its (default) is pointing to pnllmcli.dll
When ThinShell fails to connect it may log Eventlog error entry under Event Viewer -> Quest Software. Entry will have error text about COM exception, pointing to ClassID {D9397163-A2DB-4A4A-B2C9-34E876AF2DFC}
