.lnk files are unable to be published as an application to the apportal
There are many ways to publish a shared folder in vWorkspace to workaround the inability to publish .lnk files to the apportal. This KB article discusses a one method.
1.On a session host/TS create a folder "shares".
2.Next, create a shortcut of the shared folder.
3.Modify the shortcut properties of the share and remove the extra information that Windows 2008 adds to a link. for example a share to a mapped drive "vw" shortcut contains "vw (\\10.8.250.65\c$) (N:) - Shortcut.lnk" remove everything after vw so the result is a simple vw.lnk. If the shortcut is a drive letter such as "N:" modify it to point to the "servername\C$\path to shared folder\" this way it is universal and will not require additional drive mappings.
4.Next create a .bat file that contains the following : start c:\shares\vw.lnk and save the .bat file.
5.Finally, from the vWorkspace management console, publish the shortcut and add target groups and users.
