Why is there a long, 15-20 second delay after launching my vWorkspace desktop/application before the desktop/application is seen?
One possible cause for this problem could be the security negotiation on the host computer taking an excessive amount of time to complete. This can happen if NLA is enabled on the host for Remote Desktop Connections
To see whether the RDP Security Layer could be the cause of the long delay you should follow these steps on the host computer, RDSH or VDI:
Launch Regedit.exe as an Administrator
Browse to [HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\SYSTEM\CurrentControlSet\Control\Terminal Server\WinStations\RDP-Tcp]
Locate the key named "SecurityLayer"
Check if the value is currently “00000001” - When set to 1, the security level will be negotiated and can cause some delay if (domain) certificates are not set up correctly in your environment. If set to 0, then RDP protocol will be used for client / server authentication. If set to 2 then the TLS protocol will be used. More details here
Change the value to be "SecurityLayer"=dword:00000000
Setting the value to 0 also disables NLA
Close Regedit.exe
After setting the SecurityLayer value to be 0 the vWorkspace login should be much quicker.
