PNTools cannot be installed on new Windows 2008 R2 servers (Parallels). When installation is attempted from vWorskpace Console or by connecting through RDP by copying the msi file. In both cases the installation is unsucessful.
Error on screen - Error 1935 An error occurred during the installation of assembly component...HRESULT: 0x80073712 Microsoft.VC90.CRT
Rebooting the hardware node doesn't fix the problem (as per http://kb.parallels.com/en/113554)
Trying the following also doesn't help:
1.Start menu > type "regedit" (without quotes) into the search box > Enter.
2.Go to HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE\System\CurrentControlSet\Control in your Registry.
3.If you do not see an entry called RegistrySizeLimit along the right for the Control key, you will have to add it. Right-click on the white space > New > Key > DWORD (32-bit) Value.
4.To set the Value, right-click on RegistrySizeLimit > Modify. Setup this entry as follows:
Key: RegistrySizeLimit
Type: REG_DWORD
Value: 4294967295 - as base Decimal
5.Reboot your computer.
6.Test the update/install again.
If you still get an error message after adding/modifying that registry key:
1.Download vcredist.exe.
http://www.microsoft.com/en-us/download/details.aspx?id=2092
2.Run the exe.
3.Then try the install/update.
Run vcredist_x64.exe in the container, check C:\Windows\Logs\CBS\CBS.log to find the error:
