What should the .license or .licenses file look like?
The following are some simple demonstration license files. Please note that some email clients automatically add html or xml type tags to attachments. These can safely be removed from your .license file if they appear. However, there will be additional tags in the .licenses file that are produced by the license wizard. Do not remove these tags.
** A .license for JClass DesktopViews (with source code)**
sitraka.license.signature=7skxz4vM7pAhRRu
hosts=alocalmachine
type=purchase
product=jclass.desktopviews
serial_number=119-87237
sitraka.license.version=3.0
source.code=true
license_version=6.2
** A .licenses file for JClass DesktopViews (without source code) **
<licenses>
<license>
#license properties

license_version=6.2
serial_number=203987
development.hosts=somemachine
source.code=false
sitraka.license.signature=xyFU0qAhQQlOwRV9YdSA \=\=
sitraka.license.version=3.0

<licenses>
In the .license file there are several fields that are of interest to us.
1. The license_version field.
This should match the version of the product you are trying to install. Please note that this is not the same as the sitraka.license.version number field.
2. The hosts field.
The value here should match the hostname reported by your computer.
3. The product field.
This field lists the product which has been purchased and licensed. For example, in our desktop products suite you can purchase jclass.chart, or all the components as jclass.desktopviews. The product you have purchased should be listed in this field.
4. The source.code field.
If you have purchased source code this value should be true. Otherwise you can disregard this field.
For each of the fields above, should you find a discrepancy between the value in the license file and the data you have collected regarding your installation then we will likely need to modify your license file. Please contact Quest Support and log a case. When you do so please provide them with the license file in question as well as the hostname of your machine. In addition, please outline briefly which fields appear to be causing a problem.
