Target mailbox needs to be moved to a different information store on the same or different Exchange server. This mailbox is already participating in a mailbox sync collection. How can this be done?
To allow mailboxes be synchronized to another store or server you can either create a new mailbox collection and specify another private store for target mailboxes, or create a new mailbox synchronization job and specify another target server for the mailboxes. In both cases you will have to remove the mailboxes from the previous collection (or job) and add them to the new collection (or job).
The Mail Target Agent's (MTA) functionality includes moving a mailbox to the store specified for the collection (job). Thus, if the agent is installed on server B and the mailbox was, for example, created as specified by the Directory Synchronization settings on the server A (or was part of the collection synchronizing to server A), the MTA will move the mailbox to server B (i.e. to the server where the MTA itself is installed and running), and to the information store specified for the collection. The HomeMDB attribute for the user will be modified appropriately after the mailbox has been moved successfully.
Please note that regardless of the solution you choose, the network traffic will increase because the MTA will move the mailboxes, already having some content, to the other location.
