It is possible to install the backup agent manually in your DCs. You may try the following steps:
1- In your DC, run command prompt
as administrator.
2- Copy the
BackupAgent.msi file from your RMAD installation media to a folder in your DC like for example c:\temp
3- In CMD, set or change the directory to the folder in which you copied the file.
4- Run
msiexec /i BackupAgent.msi /l*v BackupAgentInstall.log. Go through the installation wizard until the agent installs. If it fails, then look through the
BackupAgentInstall.log located in the same directory in which you copied the BackupAgent.msi to find out why the installation failed.
5- Go to your RMAD server console and fist left click on Backup Agents and then right click on Backup Agents and click on "Discover All Backup Agent Instances". If nothing blocks communication between the RMAD server and the agent, then the new manual installed agent should show up in the console once is done discovering (sometimes this task takes a while) backup agents in your environment.
