Maintenance Release 2 for vWorkspace Web Access 6.2 Additional Information

Problem Description

This maintenance release should be applied if you are using vWorkspace Web Access, version 6.2, as it contains important resolutions to issues in Web Access. Refer to the Resolved Issues section for details.

**Please Note**


-This maintenance release cannot be uninstalled once it is installed. To remove it, you need to uninstall the vWorkspace installation. It is important that you understand this limitation, and install this maintenance release on the appropriate computers.


-If you have Maintenance Release 1 for vWorkspace Web Access installed, you can install Maintenance Release 2 without uninstalling the previous release.

-vWorkspace version 6.2 (build 270) must be installed prior to applying this maintenance release.

Resolution

Please download vWorkspace 6.2 Web Access Maintenance Release 2 from: https://support.quest.com/SUPPORT/index?page=downloadsentitlement&file=2883908

 To install this maintenance release:


1.Extract the .zip contents, and start the installation
2.Review and respond to the warning messages for this installation
3.Click Next on the welcome window for the InstallShield Wizard for QuesvWorkspace –MR 2 for Web Access 6.2.
4.Click Accept on the License window, and then click Next.
5.Click Install
6.Click Finish
7.Reboot the computer.

Resolved Issues

The following section contains the problem descriptions for the resolved issues in this maintenance release.

  • TT1512 The upload process of a JPEG image as a custom logo file fails for internet browsers except Internet Explorer. 
  • TT1513 The Client Version to Detect field in the Web Access Management Console, Downloads section is blank and not functioning properly when a new install of vWorkspace version 6.2 is completed. 
  • TT1514 An incorrect Windows Client version number is being reported, which is causing users to receive a message that they need to install another version of the Windows Client. This occurs when vWorkspace 6.2 is installed and Web Access is configured, or when installing vWorkspace 6.2 as an upgrade to a previous version, then maintenance release 1 is installed. 
  • TT1518 Various user interface issues occur with Internet Explorer version 8 when Compatibility Mode is turned off. To resolve this issue, Compatibility Mode is now turned on by default. 
  • TT1456 When a user enters an incorrect Web Access password and attempts to reenter a correct password, the focus of the curser moves to the username field, instead of the password field. 
  • TT1469 The Web Access Two-Factor Authentication setting, Secret Key field, is empty after selecting Save Changes. The changes are being saved even though the field is empty. 
  • TT1117 The ability for administrators to hide downloads from unauthenticated users has been added. See New in This Release for more information. 
  • TT1452 In Web Access, the Two-Factor Authentication, RADIUS setting is not functioning properly. 
  • TT1451 In Web Access, end users are receiving a message that they do not have the latest version of Web Access installed, even after installing the latest version. 
    With this release, the end user’s client version is now compared with the version specified in the Download settings, Client Version To Detect setting in the Web Access Management Console. 
  • TT1392 In Web Access, when users receive a warning message that they do not have the latest version of Web Access installed they can now select an option on the warning message, Do not show this message in the future. 
    An option to enable or disable the display of this warning message has also been added to the User Preferences options in the Web Access client. 
  • TT1413 Various user interface elements are displaying incorrectly when running Web Access in Internet Explorer 8 with Compatibility View turned off (default setting). Some of the corrected issues include: 
     • Big vertical blank space between the text Divide apps evenly among and the text box that should be next to it.
      
     • Message on the last step of the Web Access Configuration Wizard does not wrap at the end of the container.
      
     • Content width slider handle is missing inside the Web Access Configuration Wizard with Compatibility View turned On or Off.
      
     • Solid black lines around text fields instead of inse
      
  • TT1414 Column widths, in Web Access, are not being displayed correctly when application display names are of different lengths. 
  • TT1421 Two-factor authentication settings are being incorrectly disabled after saving the settings in the Web Access Management Console. 
  • TT1422 The Span Multiple Monitors check box and the Pin Connection Bar check box are being disabled if either the Fullscreen mode or the Display Connection Bar is selected. 
  • TT1428 Some setting changes in Web Access do not take effect until after logging off. With this release, a more specific message is being displayed to users so that they do not expect settings to be changed without first logging off. 
  • TT1435 Web Access stops responding if a space, instead of a valid number, is entered into the Number of Columns or Number of Listview Columns fields in the Web Access User Preferences settings. 
  • TT1436 When searching for an application in Web Access, search criteria which consists of multiple words, results in a display for each of the search criteria words that were matched. 
  • TT1437 Some Display settings that are set to not allow users to change the settings are not being disabled in the user’s Preferences settings, allowing users to change these settings.
